Adventures GPH Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the invited Adventures GPH pilot in
r/adventuresgphdev.

Information used in the pilot

To run a branching story, the app handles Reddit post and comment identifiers,
their links to a story and subreddit, Reddit account identifiers needed to check
pilot participation or moderator access, story text, and Reddit lifecycle
information needed to place and manage a story reply.

The app keeps records needed to run the story safely, including story and
comment links, the status of a pending continuation, posting status, cost and
usage records, limited information needed to handle an interrupted or uncertain
post, and a minimized record that a story comment was reported. The app's
report record does not keep the reporter's identity or the free-text reason
supplied in Reddit's report form.

OpenAI processing

AI continuation is disabled by default for this pilot. If it is turned on for a
later pilot session, the app sends the premise and relevant story-thread text to
OpenAI for safety checks and continuation generation. It sends the generated
continuation to OpenAI for a further safety check before posting.

Do not include private or sensitive information in story text. Reddit and,
when this feature is enabled, OpenAI handle information under their own terms
and privacy practices.

How information is used and shared

The app uses this information to place story continuations, prevent duplicates,
moderate requests and generated text, enforce pilot cost and rate limits,
recover safely from an uncertain post, and let moderators manage a story.

Information is handled through Reddit to operate the pilot. Story text is also
sent to OpenAI only when the OpenAI feature described above is enabled. The app
does not create a separate user account or sign-in; participation happens
through Reddit. It does not use a user-supplied API key, browser-local storage,
or an analytics service for this pilot.

Retention and deletion limits

After the app confirms that it posted a continuation successfully, it clears
its temporary copy of that generated text. If posting fails or the result is
uncertain, the item is held for case-by-case cleanup and is never automatically
reposted.

When the app receives a supported Reddit deletion notice for an exact story
comment or post, it removes matching stored story text and report references,
and pauses or closes the affected story activity. The app does not continuously
scan Reddit for account deletion, infer that an account was deleted, or remove
an existing app reply merely because its parent was deleted. Some records about
unresolved usage or an uncertain post may remain so the app does not repeat a
charge or post.
